Finanz Informatik, Frankfurt/Main

A special planning challenge was presented by the 6-storey glazed hall of what is today the Frankfurt headquarters of the Finanz Informatik. On the basis of a flow analysis, the IPJ engineering office developed a solution by means of which, year round, a very good indoor climate is being ensured and which, besides, has considerably reduced the heating costs.

The building of Finanz Informatik at the Theodor-Heuss-Allee in Frankfurt stands out for its harmonious ensemble consisting of four white and glazed cuboids. In the high rise and in the two office wings, outside flush casement windows and pure-white facade cladding make for an elegant envelope.

A special planning challenge was presented by the 6-storey glazed hall. On the basis of a flow analysis, the IPJ engineering office developed a solution by means of which, year round, a very good indoor climate is being ensured and which, besides, has considerably reduced the heating costs. Another unusual issue arose with the glass elevator shaft of the skyscraper. Here, we were able to develop simple solutions, resulting in a pleasant comfort level inside the glass cabin, both during the summer and winter months.
